Following an in-depth discussion of these topics, students are invited to share their reflections by writing argumentative essays. Exercising and protecting one's rights presupposes an understanding of them. This essay contest serves to reinforce the practice of citizenship in its broadest sense. Schools—especially public schools, which often serve students from underserved or disadvantaged communities—are vital spaces for developing critical consciousness. By fostering debate, reflection, and writing, this essay contest rewards students for their merit and academic quality. Education is transformative; it is truly worth studying. And it is certainly worthwhile to be part of IF Baiano and to contribute to the "IF Baiano Direito + Vida" project.Congratulations to the students whose essays are featured in this publication, and congratulations to all the staff members who participated in the project.
